Learning doesn’t stop when we grow up. Ropes Crossing has a range of education facilities, from proposed childcare services through to a primary school and community-based learning and employment training.
Childcare
A dedicated childcare site at Ropes Central was recently sold to Kids Korner – a childcare centre operator with 7 other centres around Sydney. Construction has commenced on the site at the corner of Hollows Parade and Pulley Drive with operations scheduled to commence in the second half of 2012.
School
Currently, Ropes Crossing Primary School caters for students in years K-6.
University
Ropes Crossing is not far from the University of Western Sydney.
Training and Employment
Skilling and Employment Ropes Crossing/Jordan Springs celebrated its 2000th job placement in late 2010, and is on a mission to find even more jobs for local residents.
The centre provides computers for internet job searching, advice on writing resumes and job applications, and information on local training courses, apprenticeships and traineeships. It also holds regular free jobseeker workshops on topics like ‘How to find a job in difficult times’ and ‘How to interview successfully.’
